Offered on behalf of its owner, this Leica M2 and 50mm Elmar have seen little use since new and are in exceptional condition. We know this outfit well, having carried out a full overhaul of the camera in December 2025 and a light service of the lens at the same time. The balance of our two-year service guarantee will transfer to the new owner.

The M2’s chrome finish is beautifully preserved. There are some light bright marks on the baseplate and a single faint mark on the accessory shoe where a flash contact has rested. The lens mount looks almost unused, and the original vulcanite is intact throughout and in excellent condition.

The viewfinder is crystal clear. A few tiny marks are visible on the rangefinder patch, but they do not detract from the clarity of the rangefinder image.

The Elmar is optically clean and clear, with smooth focusing and a smoothly operating aperture ring. We have tested the lens on the camera and found it to be an excellent performer.
